Air suspension topic locked?

Post by Raj » Wed Jul 11, 2012 1:09 pm

Not sure why the topic by James is locked so will reply here.

The FSR is probably in its way out hence being a bit random with its power drain.

As for the alarm, pressing the button twice will deactivate the interior sensors I believe so sounds like one of the sensors internally may be playing up or something is triggering the interior sensor when active.

Air suspension could be anything, from a dodgy sensor (so not stopping pump as it thinks the suspension is sat lower than it is), air pump getting stuck open or maybe the control module.

Hi Raj,

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry I must of pressed Locked by mistake! I have the post unlocked now.

Are the interior sensors easily replaced? Is there anyway I can find out which sensor is at fault? or what is causing the alarm to go off.
I have DIS, INPA etc if that helps?

In terms of the air suspension is there a way of troubleshooting it? Do you think it's unusual that it only rises when the car is turned off and locked. I would of thought it would turn off the power to the pump etc if the car was locked?

thanks
James

For people stumbling across this post in the future I went ahead and changed the FSR 3 weeks ago and so far the problem is resolved!!  So happy

It's so strange that a FSR can not only cause battery draining issues but also it can mess up the suspension!

But that's BMW electrics I guess!
