New steering wheel custom finish

Post by JimmySpeed » Wed Apr 03, 2013 9:51 pm

Received this today:

Image

Standard m sport wheel for e39/46 but fits e53 plug and play. Custom finished with perforated leather at 3 and 9 o clock, smooth leather top and bottom, m colour tri stitching, thumb grips enlarged and generally thicker all round.

I just need a new trim piece for the lower half as it's worn but the actual wheel itself is newly refurbed like a brand new wheel.

I wanted this as my e90 sport steering wheel was just like this and I loved it.

Fitted in minutes literally. Now just need to flog the original wheel and airbag

And from whom? Lovely!

Is this on a pre-facelift btw and the airbag a straight swap?

Yes this is a pre-facelift so the airbags are all the same.

I paid £210 for the wheel from the retrimmers with airbag, leaving me free to resell my complete original wheel with airbag; I have just had an ebay offer of £92 on it and its only been up for a couple of hours.

I got it from these guys http://www.pok-pol.com/ - they can retrim yours for around £100 but they keep the most common wheels in stock and can retrim it however you like down to the finest detail.

I didn't want to be without mine so I just had one from stock. As I bought the whole package (wheel & airbag) I could have gone for an e53 facelift wheel, but they didn't stock them.

Very nice.

They do the same as Jack that westside used for his. Great way to freshen up the interior.

Old wheel flogged for £95  8)

I drove with the new wheel for the first time this morning, it feels like driving a new car. Being an auto, the wheel is literally the only thing you touch non stop in the car, so a new wheel changes the entire feel of the car.

I recommend it to anyone - not necessarily my design but whatever floats your boat, for £100-150 its got to be worth it!

Is the standard 4.6is clocks - those black bits are lights when the car is on and as the car warms up they go out one by one. Basically they're there to say don't rev past wherever the lights are up to as the car is not warm enough for that rev speed.
