Scanner 1.4.0 questions

Hi again guys.....I've ordered this scanner and it should be here in a week or so....I just wanted to know if its possible to activate the voice controls for the nav/telephone etc and also the follow me home headlights, as none of these are presently working on my march 2004 x5 sport. I know there are a few things that can be done like the aux heating but didn't know if I had to have a certain pack fitted to the car for say the voice activation.

Any help would be great ty.

Looking at this diagram suggests you need various additional buttons and a control module for the phone system which implies it's not just a switch on function as it is on the later E70 X5's.

Can't help with the follow me home lights, but I thought they just worked if you switch everything off and then flick main beam.  I certainly had them on mine (Dec 04 build) and it wasn't an option I specced for the car at build.

Thanks Richard......yeah I thought the follow me home light were a standard feature as I had them on my march 04 330cd.....but they don't seem to work on the same date build x5......strange.

Hi MSPORTBMW , im still waiting on you getting that scanner, lol, we talked before about activating our aux heating, keep me posted on your progress with scanner , cant help with voice control,  but my lights work with flick of the switch ( 2005 x5 ). Colin..

Hi Colin.....yes i will let you know as soon as i get it and try it.  First thing ive done is install virtual machine on my win7 ultimate, as ive heard it is supposed to run on XP and i only have a gaming windows 7 laptop.

XP in a VM will work, but remember you need the XP drivers too......

scanner works on win 7, follow these instructions to get it installed.
