Nothing else adjusted yet mate.  I want to do the door lock after a certain speed....tried it but it didnt work. But someone on here said you have to make sure its coded for a particular key or something.  I wonder if someone could post a screenshot of the scanner showing what boxes are ticked etc for the anti hijack thing??

[email protected] from a genius mate....more like a dithering novice :-)

There are some things to do with the bluetooth but im thinking my bluetooth module is a very early one and therefore very problematic.  Its weird....i sometimes get the phone ringing and the number calling me is onscreen, but when i press answer i cant here nothing !!!    Also my phonebook didnt transfer either.  Seriously thinking of getting a parrot system.  As for the folding mirrors.....i aint touched them as there is a problem with mine.....sometimes they fold in when i press the little button near the mirror adjuster but then one of them wont fold out again....so ive left them well alone for now anyway....
Sorry i cant be of more help Colin.

MsportBmw, that folding mirror problem sounds like the microswitch issue, which Sanj, I think carefully documented in a how-to somewhere........      Mine were doing similar things but under the BMW warranty they swop out the whole mirror assembly rather than repair the cheap microswitch, so My X was treated to a new wing mirror assembly at that time under warranty and the dealer broke the glass so had to replace that too.    Hopefully someone will point you to the fix for the mirror microswitch problem.

Also the bluetooth module - my tuppence worth on it- I had endless problems initially, with pairing the phone, flakey connections etc, and mine is not even an early model, its a 2005 model.  It was a nightmare pairing a phone as well as the unit would only randomly go into pairing mode and then just as randomly refuse to do so for ages when you needed it. Eventually the control unit was replaced under the BMW warranty and the new unit has been absolutely fine, no problem downloading phone book, even downloads text messages, although you cannot send texts and pairing a doddle. So may be worth trying a different bluetooth control unit, just be careful on ebay as there are loads of knackered ones that people like to sell on and then vanish, they used to do this with Range Rover vent motors and console switches as well, I suspect its rife, so source via a decent breakers rather. Or give up and fit a Parrot!  I wanted my X to stay OEM as far as possible though, so was pleased I managed to get the bluetooth unit replaced with a brand new one.  The warranty certainly has its good points, although it is expensive to continue it after the initial year.  I think I will go with it till all the finance on the X is fully paid and then reassess and maybe save into a slush fund for repairs instead.

Thanks Condor for the advice.......I did see that microswitch fix.....trouble is im afraid id break the mirror housing when getting it off as i heard many have done, so im thinking i will leave it for now, unless someone who lives near me in Norfolk would like to do it for me.....for cash of course.
Also about the bluetooth module......im the same and would rather keep OEM than go for the parrot....but i have never made or received a call with no issues, and ive had the car 3 months !!!  And i dont have a warranty either.  So maybe i will go for a second hand module to see if that sorts it.  Do you know of any sellers i could look at that are reputable??

Cheers

As far as breakers go, Quarry seem to be reputable and are recommended..........ebay you do take a chance, but I guess if you pay with Paypal you have a brief window in which to get your money back for Item Not as Described - 45 days in fact. And Paypal side with buyers, so you will get a refund.
The new price was silly when mine was replaced, over £200 as I recall.

There is a guy called Baris who does work on the bluetooth modules in BMW's - he can add bluetooth muic streaming too. I know he offers his services on ebay but i think forum members have probably used him too. It might be worth calling him and asking his opinion on your bluetooth module....maybe he can fix the problem with it AND add bluetooth streaming. That would kerp the OEM looks!
