I wouldn't bother with the soft ones.
I have had 2 of these (one still in the garage somewhere), one for a Volvo and the other in an E class I could never get the sides/back to stay up successfully. Shootings a hobby (muddy dogs are a part of it) in the end I invested in a Vax it cleans out the mud and hair as a hoover then a shampoo gets all the hidden stuff out.
The only decent one Iv'e seen was in a friends Subaru Outback it was a hard one made for the car.

I have one which I bought via the forum ages ago, it fits really well - specifically cut for an E53 boot and is well made from a good quality heavy duty black tarpaulin type material. I will check if there is a makers name on it, I seem to remeber the seller saying it was expensive to buy although I did not pay a lot for it, used.

My P38 Range Rover had one - still have it around here somewhere, but was quite poor fitting and a faff to fit when you wanted to use it, its so variable with these bespoke items!!

Ok thanks, the ones I've looked at seem to be about £100 ! Which I think is a rip off but my boot is in mint condition and I don't want to ruin it with buggys ,kids bikes, dogs etc.

I still have an OEM rubber boot floor protector for the E53 (long gone) which a member was interested in 18 months ago but never co tacked me again.  It's sitting in my garage.  Although it can have holes cut in it to allow the tie-down loops to poke through I never cut them.  It only goes about an inch or two up the sides.  I think it's this one.  Great for protecting the floor when taking stuff to the tip etc.

Not the easiest thing to post as it's a pain to roll up. I don't have any flat packaging big enough for it either, but it's free to a good home.

BMW used to make a hard plastic one to fit in the boot , that was about 18'' high , friend of mine
had one long time ago . I've got one for the Alpina I bought at Gaydon 2 years ago .

Maybe a fleaBay search will bring one out ??

I have a Hatchbag boot liner in mine. It's a good fit and stays where you want it, as long as you follow the instructions. It's not the cheapest but I had one for 5 years previously, used it in 3 Saab 9-5 estates and sold it on eBay for a good price despite plenty of abuse and the best efforts of 2 mad Weimaraners.

223 quid? Wow!!!!! I haven't got one in the X but I had one in my A4 estate and it cost about 40 quid on eBay. It had 2 inch high skirt all round the edge and fitted perfect. I used to pull it out and hose it down to get rid of dog hair and mud. It did the job perfect.
I think 223 sheets is a bit steep for some rubber.

Woops. You better hope that's a mistake. £223 for a bit of rubber.
I'd be checking my bank account if I was you.
