Hello

Post by markda » Tue Sep 17, 2013 12:02 am

Hi there, new to the forum.  I've just traded my 335i saloon in for an 2011/61 X5 40d with just 5k miles.  I pick-up hopefully later this week or early next (it's got some private number plate which is delaying delivery).  Hunted high and low for the right car, alas in the end I had to let a couple of things go from my wish list, so no electric tailgate or comfort seats and I ended up with Carbon Black.  Which looks lovely, but the maintenance on black had me leaning toward white, silver or grey.  C'est la vie I'm sure I'll love it all the same.

Welcome

In short, a growing family (3 x children) and the 335i was starting to get a on a bit (2008/58) with 54k miles.  I've a long BMW history having previously owned a number of E36, E46, E90 and E92 models from 325i upward to the M3 and the Z4M Coupe as well.

I briefly went down the Porsche route, but didn't stay long before coming back...  As an all round car the BMW's are hard to beat, fast enough for everyday use, servicing isn't too steep and they a finished really well and (touch wood) reliability has been far beyond that of Audi and Porsche.

My local dealer has confirmed I pickup the car at 09:00 on Saturday, popped in at lunchtime today to pay for it.  Apparently they don't take debit cards on the day anymore???  News to me...  I've always done this in the past with Dick Lovett, Sytner, Barons dealers.

Hope the pick up went well!  It's a brilliant family car - we've been chuffed to bits with ours.  Enjoy!

PS brilliant forum you 've found here - lots of very helpful advice, and a few nutters!!
