Alarm going off

Post by MarkW » Wed Nov 13, 2013 9:14 pm

05 E53 3.0 diesel.
Just had my alarm go off twice in 10 minutes......is it going to be a long night??????
I have disabled the motion sensors with a double press of the lock button and all quiet at the moment. However, when I locked it the red light flashed rapidly for a few seconds. Don't remember this happening before. Maybe I just haven't looked.
Any comments or help appreciated as I would like it to still be there without a flat battery in the morning!!!! :'( :'(

The bonnet switch has been a regular culprit for this issue on this forum.

Yeah, read that on another thread. Any thoughts on the rapid flashing? Can't remember that happening before.

Lift the bonnet and it's on the top left side near the windscreen..

Disconnect it it'll save you a sleepless night..

Got mine replaced at my local Indy as I'm new to the bmw fold and didn't know what to look for..

If I'd have looked on here before it would have saved me a £45 diagnostic fee..

The part was only £12 and a DIY fit!!!!

A rapidly flashing indicator lasting 10 secs or so warns that a door, the tailgate or bonnet is not correctly closed if that's what you're seeing?
