Hi all
I had the "air suspension inactive" pop up a couple of days ago.
Got out looked at the rear and all looked good.
Turned off the ignition and fired her up all gone???
Got in the car tonight and got the same but also got check oil level and something about engine pressure( can't remember exactly what it said I was so angry)!!
Turn on and off again and all is ok?????
Now the car has been at the detailers for a couple of weeks and he said he had to jump start it to get it out of the garage..
Having read how finicky these things are re: battery's is this likely to be the culprit or am I gonna be slitting my wrists wishing I should have bought the ML I didn't ???'
Any ideas more than welcome guys :'(

Re: ????? What going on ??????
Battery is the first place to look. If it's more than about 5 years old, or has been mistreated, then it may need replacement.
Cold nights will always find the weakest spot... >:(
Another thing to try is to turn the key to Pos2 and wait for all the warning lights to fully cycle through the startup sequence and only then start the engine. That few seconds pause allows everything to boot up properly and can solve spurious warnings.
If the car is only being used on short journeys or irregularly then consider investing in a battery conditioner like a CTEK to keep the battery topped up.

50/50 in my eyes so no one gets the hump
Not had any issues before going to the detailers so sitting for so long( not knowing if radio was used etc) during that time may be the culprit ...
It's used for a 45ml journey to work everyday so not short..
Will turn off auto lights now and see if that's drawing too much power and throwing the charge into a spaz???
Failing that I guess a new battery is the way to go.
What am I looking at cost wise??
Cheers..

Re: ????? What going on ??????
Depends on spec, where you source, whether discount codes are available, from and if you fit yourself or not . Bosch silver S5 (100mah I think, someone please confirm)
Around £100-ish bucks and fit yourself

Re: ????? What going on ??????
I fitted a Bosch S5 as mentioned, you need the 019. This is 100ah S for Silver the 5 is the 5 year warranty.
I paid £100 from car parts for less, but ECP have discount codes which can bring that down further, also free delivery I believe.

Cheers..As Richard says check Batt,45miles is ok but with blowers on radio etc ::) suggest get CTEK? about £60 for model M8 off fleabay
I think, even if batt is ok,this week had to boost my 4.4 whilst using it daily only short runs failed to start 10min with CTEK started and the dreaded message 'fail safe' appeared after 2miles all was well!!
