Post by sid10 » Thu Jan 09, 2014 11:07 pm

Is the starter motor 'lazy' on initial start up ? and what is it like since battery change.
Could well be a starter motor on the way out, also check FSR (final stage resistor) plenty of info on here.

Hi no starter seems fine I changed the battery once it kept going flat which cured the problem for several months then started the same old thing flat on a morning but bought a bmw charger which again cured the problem but want to stop all together as happened last year at airport just after getting off the plane wouldn't start , but would on a jump .
I will get the hedgehog checked as you say maybe that !
Thanks

Hi Sid 10,

Have you done any voltage checks ?
should be about 14v dc across the battery when the car is running to show the alternator is good.
I have a Volvo with similar woes, has cost a new battery and alternator so far and still not sorted proper.

Battery should be about 12.3 or higher when stopped and remain steady after some time.
But it does sound like something is draining it.
