Sat/nav disappeared (reappeared )

Hi all  my sat/nav option has disappeared from my obc screen , the screen did go blank yesterday for a few hours  then came back on with a different look about it (like it had got new software ) but where the satnav should a been on the screen it was missing , ??????.

Nav computer in the boot running?

Check front fuse no7 to see if it's OK.

If all looks and sounds OK then try the BMW standard reset - disconnect the battery for about 30 mins and then reconnect it.  Sometimes these cars just suffer an electrical brainfart and need rebooting.

All ok in boot , nav is running ,  if i feel brave enough next week ill try the reset , thanks Richard .

This happened to mine,  disconnected the battery for 30 mins after advice from these very forums 
Connected it back up and all was perfect again.

I have had that problem in the past. The "new" software is really strange, wonder when it comes from........luckily it vanished when I did a battery reset and my alternator was exchanged under warranty not long after - think it may have been spiking and causing weird electrical faults. I would try a reset of the battery first though.

Yes......I kept up the extended warranty, will probably stop in the next year. Was waiting for the ZF box to go bang.......

I never got round to resetting the obc but thismorning on the way to work the screen went blank for half hour then came back on , BUT it was back to the old format and the satnav had reappeared , dunno whats up

for no apparent reason its all back to normal , on thing i do know is when it goes of and then flickers for a while then goes blank , the X wont start in the morning (flat battery ) this has happened twice in 10 months..v strange ..
