I have a few before and after pics which I will have to dig out. Would have loved to have kept a better portfolio but quite a bit of the work has been done while I have been away at work. I have done alot myself too though which has saved a bit of cash and also gave me a sense of achievement. Its crazy how fast the bills mount up! I spent close to £1100 just on GU10 Bulbs!!!

GU10 are spotlight bulbs, right?

E-mail [email protected] and ask to buy one direct. You'll save some money, probably even on the 2nd hand price.

Yeah GU10 are the spotlight bulbs... sounds crazy to spend that much but i'll quickly explain:

I have LOADS of spotlights in the house, I have a woman that lives in the house that likes to leave the lights on! :headbang:

The old ones were the 50W GU10 Halogens. Great, but, when in the Kitchen you have 12 and in the Lounge you have 9 and the woman leaves them both on, that is 1050W!!! Almost like having a kettle on (ok exaggerating)!

The new ones are 2.3W GU10 LED's. Fantastic, practically the same amount of light and lasts up to 10 times longer than the Halogens. Now woman can leave them on all she likes as I can run nearly 22 Lights for the same cost as 1 Halogen!!

Note: I will be taking these bulbs with me when I buy a new house in a few years and i'll leave behind the Halogens
The dock is also very expensive! Seen that, sits in the ashtray nice. But the IV2 doesnt need to be accessed once it's hooked up, all the controls are accessible off the unit/steering. It's important to feed it through to the centre console.

Haven't investigated the possibility of using this dock with IV2 setup but I don't think it would be impossible. Could be as easy as connecting the KCA-420i iPod connector to the bottom of the dock and that's it!?!
Sorry Sanj, just seen your reply... yeah I was hoping that it might be as simple as connecting the KCA to the bottom of the dock. The reason for wanting the dock is that I would probably use my iPhone as the iPod with the music on. I could maybe route the wires into the arm rest though and that would still give me easy access?

So long as the dock has a fully wired iPod dock connector then you will be able to use the Intravee/KCA-420i with it. If the dock is not fully wired, and is missing the accessory pin, then the KCA-420i won't see the iPod and so it won't work.

OK, ordered Intravee direct o/

I have the KCA-420i and 2 cables. Does it get its power thru the CD cable? Does Intravee need power from the loom? Is there a PDF install manual I can grab somewhere? How do I get the beta firmware to try my mirrors, what's the meaning of life? :)

Thanks

Do it yourself, in an X5 you can have it running in 30 seconds!

You won't (or should not have) needed to do anything to the audio connector. As the iBus is a serial multidrop system, T ing off the 3 pin connector will make no difference.

Yes.
Does Intravee need power from the loom?
Yes, just connect the 3 pin and 6 pin CD Changer connections to it, unless you have the older 'Digital' DSP system it's plug and play.
Yes. For V6.01-1410 which will be on a new Intravee http://www.intravention.co.uk/files/pub ... 1-1410.pdf

Register your Intravee serial number as described on the forum and ask [email protected] if you can have a copy. The more info about your car you give the more likely you are to get it!

Tell me more, I have the same issue (not the same wife mind), but spots all round the house, they have indidual transformers per light. Can I use these LED ones direct or is there more too it? Any good links to buy from if its a straight swap?
