+ve onto the green cable coming out of the tail light ,  - side of the capacitor onto the black cable ,
try not to leave any bare cable exposed  electrical insulation tape ,
Mine were soldered on  then some heat shrink covering
capacitors were fitted on the cables coming out from the new lights and before the main car loom plug .

These are the cables I have. The capacitor has 1 long and 1 short leg.  What leg is the positive/negative prongs.

If following proper electronics convention then the longer leg is +ve.  May also be a '+' symbol on the body, or a strip with '+' symbols, or a coloured strip with a '-' symbol.
