Ok , every diesel I have ever owned has had the egr valve removed and blanked or disabled, by myself usually, the car was silky smooth when I picked it up but I am finding with the 24 mile slow commute that is starting to feel a little lumpy after 2 months never had a 3.0 bimmer diesel before so can anyone tell me which bypass valve/blank etc to buy etc, I am good with the tools etc so fitting isn't a problem.
Usually when getting rid of an egr valve then I clean the inlet manifold and throttle body out, experiences with this also please?
I have noticed that there may also be a problem with the inlet butterflies on some (mines 2005 facelift) and blanks can be brought from ebay etc.....is it necessary to do this mod, anyone done it???
Cheers lads and lasses

Re: EGR VALVE TIME.
You could just take it of and clean it, when you refit it to the car just plug off the vacuum pipe instead of putting it back on to the actuator, no need to replace it with a blanking kit, once the vacuum is disconnected it won't operate, so won't be a problem

Re: EGR VALVE TIME.
^ as above
not sure why you started a new thread, when you posted in the thread I put up just yesterday discussing exactly this.....
No advantage be gained from putting an ebay block kit in other than a whole heap of extra work to install and reverse if required.
Diesels don't have throttle bodies (they regulate engine speed through fuel pressure) and E53's don't have swirl flaps, so no work required there!
To clean the inlet manifold out properly, you would need to remove the whole thing and have it hot dipped, which wouldn't be recommended as it's made from plastic.
