Noticed yesterday a couple of times whilst driving the screen would go blank, flicker, reset and come back online.
Then last night, it froze. I turned off the car and back on again...it reset...and now looks completely different than before and I have lost the Sat Nav function...???
What the hell?
I have the full screen jobbie, car is a 3.0D 2004 X5....
Anyone help?
I took a few pics of what the current screen looks like if it helps diagnosis.
I am thinking its done some kind of factory reset and wide out any firmware upgrades that it may have had?

Satnav computer has fallen over. Check all the wiring/connectors are in place and fuses OK. A few folks on here have suffered a similar issue. Sometimes it's the computer itself (the nav drive) that has failed.

Well all I did was remove the Sat Nav disc, re-insert, and all back to normal. Weird....
Noticed I don't have the latest software version so will look at updating that too.

Non-OEM discs can cause issues, but not normally the one you have reported. You usually get something like 'Disc read error' or similar. As the lasers age they can struggle with 'burned' rather than stamped discs.
Glad it's an easy issue so far though.

Thanks for your help Richard. Have been out and about all day today and had no issues so I will put it down to a small gremlin....and easily reset.
The disc I have is a genuine 2013 map version.
Thanks again,
