Really odd this one and in the grand scheme of things I am not going to lose too much sleep over it.....but a couple of times in the last few weeks my kids have mentioned that when they put one of the rear heated seats on the 2nd position (hottest, 2 lights on) exactly 13 seconds later it drops down to the first position (one light on) Put it back to level 2 and it drops back to level 1 again after 13 secs.
This can be cured by stopping the car, turning off and re-starting and it doesn't happen every journey.
All other electricals are fine and its only the drivers side rear, passenger side is fine.
Like I say, not going to lose any sleep over it - will just have one of my kids telling the other they have a warmer seat than they do - nah nah na na nah ! - but find it very odd. Its a 2003 4.4i if that makes any difference.

Really odd one this - Rear heated seat not maintaining warm-ness
Re: Really odd one this - Rear heated seat not maintaining warm-ness
Hi
I read this with interest as wanting heated rear seats on my car.
You could check its not a faulty switchby shopping over the passenger rear one to the driver side rear and see if it maintains the heat setting if yes then it looks like the switch is playing up.
If not and it still drops the setting then need to check real oem for details but I would think it's some sort of resistor/ thermostat if it has one

Thanks Graham, is swapping over switches easy enough to do ? (I am very heavy handed and have zero patience ! Little plastic easily breakable things on these cars and me don't go well together !)
