This morning my car was unlocked and the all the windows were half down!!

Post by martin33100 » Tue Feb 03, 2015 2:17 pm

I am sure we locked our 57 X5 last night but this morning when I went out to remove the snow from it I noticed it was unlocked and the windows were all half way now. Not that good as we had snow in the car as well.
Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue?
I know is a different car but my mum and dad had a golf TDI and that started to open all the windows while it was locked, according to VW there was no issues that I didn't believe as they new straight away how to turn the function off on the ECU to solve the problem.

Just spoke to my BMW indy and he said it may have been caused by one of my little boys if they picked up a remote and did a comfort opening. That will teach them as they had snow in there car seats :)

Happened with our convertible once.  All keys out of reach of 'little fingers' now, and all the keys have covers over them to stop things in pockets causing the same thing.

I did this once, had the key fob in my pocket and sat down.

If the doors weren't opened it should have re-locked

I had this once.  I think it can be caused by the cold.

Happened to me twice when I had my old 330d, once when I was out gardening and key in my pocket along with house keys realised I must have pressed it accidental, then one morning pouring of rain heading to my car I noticed windows all open and door pockets full of water, also had car/house keys in my pocket previous night. :-[
When I am in the house I no longer have my keys in my pocket.... lesson learned

Also happened to me on my Audi, sat on the key and it activated the ulock button enough to roll down all four windows and let the rain into my window switches and make all the instruments go crazy for a while..

I had a similar issure with my old 530i (E60) - but that used to open the boot rather than the windows!  Turned out to be one of the control modules
