2004 E53 4.4 Sport 4 sale - Now sold

Post by Splondike » Tue Apr 21, 2015 11:41 am

I don't have enough posts, but AW8 has authorised my advert - so many thanks to him.

Due to change of circumstances I am regretfully selling my X5 due to the need for an extra seat.

Details.
BMW X5 4.4 Sport 2004 04 Reg
Sterling Grey 472
Grey Dakota leather
Titanium Trim

History
77,000 Miles
2 Previous owners
MOT Due 29/12/15 – No advisories last time.
Hunter 4 Wheel alignment done so no uneven tyre wear.  Michelin Diamaris on the back and Cooper Zeon Xs on the front (don’t ask, they were on there when I bought it and seem ok and have loads of tread !)
3 Green Lights, Oil service done at 72,000 miles
Renewed front disks and pads at last service.
Recent outer CV boots replaced with genuine BMW items.
Renewed rubber stops for tailgate to stop it rattling
New wipers all round
Full BMW History up to my ownership, serviced by Car Matters since.
Unused full spare wheel.

Standard sport spec:
Electric heated Sport seats with driver memory
Sports alloys(V-spoke style 63 5 spoke 10 J x 19
3 spoke sports steering wheel multi function.
Sport suspension setting
Anthracite headlining
Clear indicator lenses
De- chroming
Black tailpipes
Xenon headlights
Auto dipping mirrors

Further options:
Factory de-badge.
Expensive Westfalia removable tow bar and electrics (1500 quid if you wanted BMW to do it)
New side repeaters from BMW just fitted.
Replaced Analogue with digital TV Module
BMW dog / luggage guard
Roof rails (never used)
Carbon dipped steering wheel centre, this had tidied up the steering wheel centre, the standard ones seem to look worn out after about 30k miles !

Condition
The exterior is in nice condition and polishes up well, there is a slight scuff on the drivers side of the rear bumper but it is barely noticeable and does not detract from what is a nice looking car.  I replaced one section of the shadowline trim which was a little marked with a new one from BMW.  The interior is in very nice condition over all, the drivers bolster is slightly misshapen (as you can see in the picture) but there is no wear at all on any of the leather and I have have kept it clean and conditioned with gliptone during my ownership.  The carpets themselves are a little dirty but I will try to get them vaxed this week, but the expensive overmats I fitted are in excellent condition, including the boot one.  Unfortunately the mirrors do not fold as they did originally.

It drives extremely well and feels tight.  It goes through the gears correctly and has the later and apparently more reliable 6 speed ZF gearbox with the sport and manual modes.

It really is a lovely place to sit, lording it over the peasants and able to really shift when you need it to, 7 seconds to 60 and 150 mph are not too shabby for such a large vehicle.  It is obviously not the most economical car, but it drives so well and that addictive V8 make it seem somehow worth it :)  It is in the lower tax bracket too so running costs are not too horrendous.

I am asking £6500 which I think is a fair price for a facelift X5 Sport with this relatively low mileage.

I am located in Ashford in Kent just off of Junction 9 of the M20

Good Afternoon,

I am over in Bidedenden and the father in law is looking to replace his 3.0i X5 manual.

What level of MPG would the 4.4 v8 be delivering.  He would only use it at weekends so.

Good afternoon Stuart,

25 mpg is the best I have averaged on a long journey, however that will always be with 5 people on board and I usually (with cruise set around 80) get about 23.  Around town it does around 16 if you drive briskly and 19 if you drive like a vicar with a precious load on board :)

I will message you my mobile number if you want to give me a call to come and look.

Thanks,
Mark
