Hi anybody help I have an 02 x5 3.0 petrol only now again the elm appears no lack in performance I just use the machine to reset the codes off we go again the problem is intermittent any ideas please help

What tool are you reading the codes with? If it's a 'generic' reader they might be harder to identify.

Need together access to a better reader which will give you a clue. Scanner 1.4.0 is popular (needs a laptop too), or a Dealer code check for about £70.
Lots of scanner info on here. Generic systems just don't give enough detail to work from.
