Morning
I have had some problem with my handbrake being really lose, and have come to the conclusion one of the cables has snapped / stretched.
I've changed the rear discs, shoes, all fittings and checked the cable route and mounts and all is in order (and of course, checked the nuts at the lever end).
Am I correct in thinking the cable is just a case or remove nuts at the lever end and prize is out of all the fittings through to the rear discs? And refitting the reverse of this?
My local Indy have quoted £190 to change the cables - given they are £10 from ECP i thought i'd tackle it!
Thanks in advance.

Re: E53 - Changing handbrake cable?
They are reasonably easy to change as long as they haven't seized into the rear hubs..
If they have then they are a bloody nightmare and the £190 you were quoted would seem cheap!!!
Guess which way mine went!!!!!
Have you set up the tensioner thingy in the rear hub correctly??

If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

Oh no!
I have stripped down both rear hubs, changed the shoes etc and the cables felt very loose in the little spreader thing behind the shoe - hence me thinking it's possibly snapped / stretched?
