Air suspension

Post by qw12as » Thu Dec 10, 2015 11:06 pm

Hey there, the air suspension bags are on their way out on my 4.8 x5. I have an AUC warranty with BMW and they are telling me it's a wear and tear item and so won't fix it. My local Indy garage are saying its s component failure and do should be covered...anyone had any similar experience, and if so, what was the outcome??? Help, it's going to cost otherwise!!!

Ask them to show you the exclusion list on the warranty might be a place to start....or if you have it, look through it yourself.  Extended warranty cars are covered but perhaps AUC have more limitations.

Hmm, I extended the AUC warranty on my 4.8is and had an airbag leak a year ago which was fully covered by the warranty - they replaced the airbag no issues.    The original AUC warranty (the first year) covers absolutely everything even the battery - not consumables like tyres though. The extended warranty is you continue after the first year has some exclusions but I have always argued each and every thing and have almost always either got the warranty to pay out or BMW UK to provide a goodwill repair as my car is fully dealer serviced all the time and has a full main dealer service history.

I would get the main dealer you use on side to argue for you with the warranty people, Mondial I think - or to seek a goodwill contribution if you have a full main dealer service history.
