Hello and :hi:

Not everyone gets gearbox issues  :)

What model/mileage/owners etc has the car had?

Bmw gearboxes are generally good.  I had an E39 that i sold with 136,000 miles on the clock and an E60 with 121,000 on the clock. Both gearboxes were faultless.

Hi, I had a 03 X5 3.0D sport with 130,000 miles and no issues with the Gearbox at all. However the brakes were another story.....

:hi: change the gearbox oil to help alleviate worries. They can tell you if the oil smells burnt or has any metal deposits in it. Will help indicate the condition of the box and hopefully help you sleep better afterwards.  :)
