Exactly the same as me, I spoke to a friend who works at BMW who said they are pretty strict on how early you can get in for a service etc. Mine is on 56k miles and service pack is only upto 60k or 5 yesrs.

My X5 and X6 were both on a 5 year pack and I could get nothing done unless the car said it needed a service!

Even changing the wiper blades outside a service was like pulling teeth!

On the idrive it showing it don't need a service for another 6k miles or until 03/17  I generally don't do a lot of mileage plus I got 2 cars and do a lot of short journey . Surely is best to service the car once a year .

Get an oil change at a local independant,  but ask him not to reset the service indicators. Then have BMW do it if you reach that milestone in time

These cars use time based & condition based servicing.  Brake fluid is time based (2-years), oil is condition based (up to 22,000 miles between changes).  It is good practice to change oil every twelve months but not essential on modern engines as they are cleaner burning and better built.
