Just upgraded sat nav.in X5. Came to watch TV while waiting for wife and I could not select it in the menu.
It's greyed out.
Any ideas please?

Re: Upgraded Sat Nav, now TV is Greyed Out !
Hi
I am not an expert as my sat nav in my old E53 didn't have a TV.
If it's the BMW sat nav unit with tv but they were all originally an analogue TV set up and if the tv was working recently then it is likelt it would have had a digital conversion at some point. If it's an aftermarket unit then I don't know and the following is unlikely to apply.
Do you know where the TV module is, I would suspect it's in the boot near the sat nav unit.
We aren't supposed to talk about non BMW sat nav updates but whichever one does the sat nav still work? If so it could be a setting on the menu may have changed as the system would probably have rebooted itself and so you may have the re configure it
or
Alternatively you could have dislodged a connection if doing anything else with head unit or in the boot where the sat nav drive especially taking disc out if other items in there or not all secure in the left side boot panel (as you look into the boot from the rear of car) so it's also worth a check.

Re: Upgraded Sat Nav, now TV is Greyed Out !
When you say "upgrade" the satnav, do you mean you replaced the disc with an aftermarket, mon-OEM one? Or did you replace a Mk3 unit with a Mk4 one? If its use of a non-approved disc, then try replacing it with a proper BMW disc. Non-OEM discs can sometimes brick the units so beware, also be aware we cannot discuss use of non-OEM software -forum rules.
Also what year and model is your X?
