Handheld code reader

Post by Upex » Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:40 pm

Are any handheld readers able to cover different car makes? Ie laser 5091 type things?

Want a fairly decent (better than the 30 quid ebay lump of junk that hasn't found a anything on anything other than a 98 slk lol) one that doesn't break bank. Not after a Bluetooth carly type, or laptop job, just a handheld that can cover the bmw and my lexus.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

Under a turbo swap presently (fingers crossed it fixes her!)

Yes - I bought it to avoid any issues reading BMW codes with generic readers.

I bought it off a forum member on another BMW  board - private sale used.

Does what I want - idiot proof fast scanning, resets & clearing codes if needed.

Back in the day this was the default kit for enthusiasts with pre cbs cars - E39 M5 owners swore by these
