Comfort seat headrestraint

Post by themoog » Sun May 21, 2017 9:33 am

Having gone through my X5 eradicating all the rattles that drive me mad (finally found the one in the boot- cables for the satnav player clattering) I've moved onto our other X5.
The driver head restraint rattles slightly in the posts. How do they come out? As its electrical I've moved it up to the highest position but there are no clips like on manual seats and it won't budge.
Anyone ever taken them out?

A long time since I looked at an E53 seat, but you may need to get the seat back off?

We'll I stripped everything out of the boot under the cover and made sure everything was fixed down. Still had a rattle.. So I removed the cd player and the satnav DVD and that's where I found the bugger- behind those units the cables were bouncing about causing the noise. A few cable ties fixed it.
