Scanner 1.4.0. software

Hi, don't know if this is allowed on here but ......

I dont have a scanner 1.4.0 but have another software suite which has SSS PROGMAN, INPA, EDIABAS, WINKFP, TOOLSET32, DIS / GTI, NAVCODER.

I'm STILL trying to switch in my AUX. HEATING as an option on my X5 2006 d facelift.

Nothing in the above software suite seems to allow this,....
The software will get the car to the moon and back but won't switch Aux. Heating as an option on my display.

I have read I need Scanner 1.4.0 to do the trick.

My question is can someone talk me through how to do it via an idiot sheet for the software suite I have...alternatively, if I download the 1.4.0. software from somewhere (though I don't know where) can I use my existing interface or do I need one specific to the 1.4.0. software?

Just a thought, but what else (apart from allowing remote operation) does the module you need in the boot do?  You can use Telestart 70/80/90 units for remote control but I don’t know if those modules are also needed to enable the Aux Heating mode?  The wiring is all in place so the module is just plug and play.

Aux Heating came with a remote control and an additional (plug-in) module in the boot.  It’s a Webasto Telestart.  You might need it.

Where might I get one?.....and if the aux. heating is enabled....can't the timer in the cabin be set like aux. ventillation?

That generation of Telestart is getting old now, but was used in all sorts of cars.  Have a look for Telestart T60, T70, T80 on Line.  They are all the same basically.  Not cheap though and eBay may be your best option.

Can’t help with the timer part as I never had the option on my old E53 - sorry.

If heater is faulty then the telestart wont make it work, apply 12v to pin 1 on the heater for 3 mins and it should go through starting up cycle
if it wont start. like mine then somethings up.
if aux heat is enabled as i did mine you can set the start up time for the morning to warm car up but if heater wont work with 12v to pin 1 then the timer wont do anything either.
