Battery charger rates

Evening all

The Ctek do a large one xs 25000 25 amp ,  i wonder if this is ok to charge me little use battery every 10 days or so, not much info online i can find about the rate is charges,  if it senses the battery is say 50%  would it top up slowly and cause no problem or does it bang the 25a in whatever,

it does seem like the smaller ones that it goes onto a lower rate when charged up.
Just had chance to buy one from a friend,  seemed a better idea to charge it in a day or less rather than the 2 days my mxs 5 takes as im a road parker and have no driveway.
Also of course if it was a fully flat battery it states it charges it up in around 5 hours.
Just wondered if the Ctek technology would protect the battery better than a cheap and cheerful high amp one that just blasted it in till full.

I use a CTEK 3.8A running continuously to ‘maintain’ a car which is now in storage, and a 10A version to bring the battery on the X6 up when it hadn’t been used.  Typically the 10A will bring a low battery back in 6-8 hours max, and a properly dead battery in 12-16 hours.  Both are 8-stage chargers and can recondition as well.

A 25A charger may well create a fair bit of heat and will need monitoring carefully as it is in effect a ‘rapid-charger’ and will fully charge a dead battery in a 3-4 hours or so but repeated use at full rate will shorten the battery’s service life.

The CTEK charger types will offer much better protection, but do you really need that much charging ‘capacity’?

Not really needing a 25a unit but as im on the road the shorter time i have to run a cable out the better.
Better maybe just a couple of hours to top up is better but suppose only time will tell how the battery is affected.
