Post by marinaman » Thu May 17, 2018 9:52 pm

Hill decent is only really needed on snow/ ice / loose surface seriously steep events usually off road.
I think Ito lay works bellow 20 mph.
Not needed on the Chelsea tractors

Only for use on very steep hills for a short distance.  It works by using the brakes to control speed down to around 5mph - and you can use the throttle to keep between 3 & 15mph and you can set it on the cruise control.  It auto disconnects at 35mph.

What you felt was the speed being controlled as you braked going down a hill.  If you brake gently for more than a few seconds, the gearbox drops down (usually to 3rd) to give you engine braking until you next accelerate.

My wife thinks the button looks like a duck........ :(

Many thanks for educating , indeed not many steep hills to use it on in normal driving.
