Finally ready for the road

Hi all
After much work inside and out, my E53 is now ready for the road.
To summarise the work done I have changed the battery, had the BM54 module repaired and upgraded, change the driver's door handle carrier, seat module on the driver's seat and the tailgate upper switch.
I also bought a new key and had that coded in. When the dealer coded it they noticed it hands' had the air bag recall so I ended up with a new driver's air bag.
Externally I have had th sump gasket changed, all filters, antifreeze, transmission oil and filter, rear brake pipes, NSF CV gaiter and NS engine mounting.
I have also cleaned it inside and out.
Now it needs to prove itself over the next 6 month. If it does then I will buy it some new headlamps and repair the driver's seat bolster.

Hi
The plastic looks like it has a sort of lacquer on them around the bottom edge and over the indicator area.
I fancy some angel eyes after market type and keep the White indicator look that it now has.
Any tips?

You could clean up the headlights to get rid of that faded look quite cheaply whilst your waiting on the X to prove it’s self. You can use anything from toothpaste to a dedicated headlight refurb kit from Halfords/eBay or such like.

Hi henry
I tried the toothpaste trick and that didn't have any effect whatsoever.
Maybe I was using the wrong toothpaste
Did around 120 miles today and I have to say - it was great. Look forward to a continuing ownership, so long as she behaves.....

Certainly was a list of things to get through.
Good job on getting her back to roadworthy condition and it sounds like she's behaving.
I used the meguiars kit for the headlights and it worked a treat.

Hi silverfox
It was easy on a to post ramp. The font t far cover was dropped at the back and I made a join under there.
The ones to t flexis were bought pre formed and fitted unite simple.
What amazed me is that all the nipples came undone quite easily.
Good luck with yours.

I have to say that this is the first car for many years where I want to go the long way home to just drive it.
