Odd one this but just interested..
Would or does an E70 door mirror fit on an E53? I’ve searched and I can’t find any evidence of it being done.

Door mirror
Re: Door mirror
Have you had a look at realoem to check part numbers?
Off the top of my head I would say No as with a lot of "facelift" stuff the mountings, loom etc may be completely different.
Someone more into the modding side may well know more.
Good Luck if you give it a go

Re: Door mirror
My mirrors seem to have a mind of their own - one folds in but moves back out as soon as I lock the car. The other folds in and back out straight away.
It maybe simple stuff to sort but it just made me wonder. I don’t think the E70 mirrors are as massive and E53 items don’t seem particularly well made.

Re: Door mirror
That will be the limit switches that control travel loads on here about fixes.
It only takes one of the switches to be out of kilter and it affects both.

Re: Door mirror
Nope, didn't cure the problem. I had replaced the worm drives in both too but ultimately the only cure was to cough up for new unitsGreydog wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2020 5:39 pm Or 2 new limit switches from Radio Shack (when they were around) £4 with postage![]()
