Three remote keys with this particular car but since battery changes, none will talk to the car? So the issue is obviously with the car.
Anyone any pointers on what to check/look for. Battery disconnect maybe?

The keys should be able to be re-synced. A 30-minute disconnect might solve it. I have only experienced that on the E53 and it took a couple of minutes to re-sync them.
The E70 needs to use the dealer software system apparently. If the battery reset doesn’t work, then it’s a dealer visit.

Does it have comfort access ? as the keys are usually rechargeable and the batteries don't need changing .

Comfort access on mine needs the batteries changing after around 12 months. The non-CA versions recharge in the key slot. Did BMW change the system?
I did have some oddities when I changed the X6 battery a few weeks back, Disconnecting and reconnecting fixed it.
