So its for sale, and a couple of 'foreign gentlemen' pitched up last night to view it. I was annoyed from the outset as i hadn't locked it and they were both all over it by the time i noticed their presence. I went outside and basically said ask me before you dive into it, and why didn't you tell me you had arrived. My phone battery died said one of them, who was all of twelve feet from my video front door bell. We exchanged a few brusque words on that point, then i got to showing them the car. I'm very aware of a known scam, where when distracted by one person another puts something into the engine to make it very smokey so they can claim all manner of things and offer derisory money for it, so when asked to start it and pull the bonnet, i declined at that point and joined the other guy at the back who was pretty verbal about it not being a seven seater. Distraction attempt!
Bells were ringing now as this was an obvious attempt at distracting me from the guy at the front. So i shut the tailgate and walked back to start it and pull the bonnet. Instantly the other guy said the turbo was noisy and to highlight his claim proceeded to remove the oil filler cap

I suspect the buyer that was coming from Leicester on Wednesday, who didnt turn up, was the same pair using different contact info.
I truly hate scammers and con men.
