MID Radio

Post by mas123 » Thu Jul 28, 2011 10:38 pm

Hi,

I have a X5 2003 with a MID radio. Does anyone know which wires go to the speakers from the radio?

Thanks

If you can go through the laborious task of identifying the colour of the wires I might be able to help. I did this from the amp in the boot when messing with an aftermarket unit. Could be the same...

Yes - to the radio module, also known as the BM24 or BM54. Under the boot floor, spare, compressor and the plastic housing surrounding the battery.

Hi,

I just want check before I take the spare wheel out, do the speaker wires go to the radio tuner or can I access the speaker wires from near the CD changer? I don't have DSP.

Source is the radio module, not sure which way your loom will then go. Best to go from the module.

What are you trying to do? Replace the HU?

I am trying to take some connections of the speaker wire so that I can connect an amplifier.

Thanks.

In that case use the search option above and you'll find posts like this (links to YouTube):

Think you'll have most questions answered.

Hi,

I checked the videos on you tube and they assume the car a a subwoofer it all ready and take the connections for the amp from there. Does anyone know whether the plug in the back near the radio module marked 'AMP' is the same plug that I can use for connecting a active sub?

I haven't looked through this fully, mine is a HK unit but does this help:
