Ferric grey might be a choice instead of polishing? It's a standard BMW choice, along with black now for some reason. Ferric Grey might be easier to look after than polished faces on our rubbish covered roads.

Yeah I would avoid the polished finish, they are very hard to maintain and also I think polished 19's on an X5 may actually look too small because polished wheels really stand out and the size becomes obvious.

I would go with ferric grey if you are tired of black.

Did you buy that recently - I saw it on autotrader when I was looking for mine a few months ago.

Is that a uk x5, and how have u dropped the ride that low? That is crazy too low and doesn't look right in my opinion especially with those wheels

 Now you're being harsh on yourself ...Many things are possible albeit I suspect that a fit that snug would be hard to achieve......even with revised undepinnings.

no i had for over a year, i was trying to sell it but decided against it as i didn't have a call, i think it was too dear.

the wheel refurb place won't do a two colour wheel they said, only polished fronts and colours backs, i might get them ferric grey, has anybody got pics of this??

I thought i recognised that driveway 'neighbour' another Millbrook resident :)

Mine aren't Ferric grey specifically but that sort of look works well on a black car, though i'm biased. (They're darker than they appear here) Any polished wheel i've ever had soon developed the white snail trails under the laquer. Painted is best, imo.

hello neighbour, i found out that lepsons will charge me over £600 to have them painted ferric grey, that's not happening then...lol i might look for new wheels.

by the way i've just started up my own mobile tyre fitting business, so when you need new tyres you know where to come.

Nearest I can find in Ferric Grey...Not sure if Jalf has these on his X6, which will give a real world view....

£150 a wheel sounds a tad pricy to me. Are Lepsons your only choice? I believe they have a good rep, but it sounds like they are pricing themselves accordingly!

Mine were £325 +VAT from Lepsons and that was a premium price for the special paint i chose. (McLaren SLR wheels colour) £600 is surely a cock up price for a single paint finish :o whatever the colour. 20" wheels are nomally more costly that 19" too!

There's always Spit & Polish as an option?

Happy to pay you a visit for tyre fitting but thankfully all of mine are new now, so hopefully no stripping required for some time to come :)

any other standard colour with lepsons is around the £50 a wheel, so not bad, the finish from wheels i've had done in the past have been great, spit and polish is up the road but not used them for years.

this is what lepsons said.

Hi Rob

We can refurb your wheels in Ferric Grey but the paint cost £230 +
vat for half a litre plus your refurb cost which will be approx £280 +
vat, you will be looking at a total cost of £637.50p.

Kind regards

:o £230 for a half litre of paint? Mine were £60 each plus another £20 each for the special mix paint. I don't understand their quote at all :scratchhead:
