x5 e53 rear suspension problem

Post by Mother » Wed Sep 07, 2011 11:24 am

Was walking up to my car today and noticed the car seemed to be listing to one side a tad at the rear, i checked the gap between the wheels and arches and the offside rear is 2" lower?
I checked the air suspension and there is no sign of leaking (hissing) i have only had the car less than 2 weeks and never noticed tbh.
What else do i look for?
I have just changed the battery the other day and it was disconnected for about 30 minutes, i think it might be because of this?
Is there a way of resetting the suspension? thanks mark

If no leaks it could be a ride height sensor on the blink. My rear offside did this, it was blown right up on that side and turned out to be the sensor. £170 fitted by Indy.

Yeah, im now thinking is it 2" too high on the nearside, i immediately thought it was down 2" on offside.....i'm gonna try disconnecting the battery again on a level surface, because when i was changing it on my drive, the drive is at a slant. A long shot i know but i read a thread on this forum about the self leveling suspension and it fixed it for one guy.
I read on a different forum about disconnecting for 20 minutes so will try that.

I forgot to mention that immediately after changing the battery i put some 22" wheels on it and jacked the car up for each wheel etc.
