Bosch S3 is 90ah

Bosch S4 is 95ah

Bosch S5 is 100ah

Any is good but S4 or S5 is best for the 4.4, go for the S5 from EuroCarParts with their discounts mentioned here:

I'm picking the S5 version up today from ECP with the kind donation of a discount code offered by another member of the forum (brewer) I'm paying £84.55! On the ECP website, just put in the code for the battery, 444770198, and then 'MBCLUB25' discount code at check-out.

Halfrauds used to be the same on their battery selector tool until I took the E46 330Cd over to them and showed them what was in there. The tool said the battery was their code HSB019 (same as the X5 3.0d), when actually it was an HSB110 - which is only slightly shorter on the long side, but fits. It would not let me select anything else but the 019. After that they changed the site!! You may have the same lookup database error issue, but with ECP and for the 4.4

There is an S3, S4, S5 and S6 for the 4.4

I fitted an S5 in mine only last weekend, its the same size as the BMW original. Mine is a 2001 4.4 so it will fit your car ;)

Are you sure battery is knackered? Have you had it tested?

Hi,

Not tested it no, but if I go to the trouble of taking the LPG tank out then I would rather change it so I know I've got a few years before I need to do it again, the tanks been in 6 years so I'm betting it's not been changed since then.
