Back to black?

Black trim on my front bumper (where the sensors are) is not looking to good, it's a bit faded on the passenger side corner. What's the best way to bring it back to life so it matches the rest of the bumper trim. Don't want to have to paint it or I'll have to do the wheel arch trims and the ends of the running boards do it all matches

I use autoglym bumper care looks good, but probably wants doing once a month

+1 for bumper care, but as said you need to do it every other wash, also, try applying it with a small piece of sponge rather than a cloth, it soaks into the sponge and you don't seem to use as much, then just wipe the excess off with a nice piece of clean rag.

A friend who does bodywork once told me that heating with one of those paint strippers like a hair drier would bring it back for longer than back to black etc. I tried it on my Discovery bumper ends and it worked and stayed black for months, you can see it happen. obviously you need to mind paint and dont melt it completely. At your own risk

om my old e53 2001 i had this issue i got some black bumper paint front the motor factors, you had to mask everything as if you are painting it, then you just spray it with no prep, primer or laquer, and it returns the oem finish, i used two cans that were about Â£5 each!! cant remember the make i had but im sure halfords sell it just it will be Â£10 a can!

I used turtle wax bumper protector on the Scoob, it's like green snot and last weeks. Not needed to do the X as there nice and black.

Don't use back to black, used once and never again. Yep it makes them black to black at a cost of sending them gray after its been washed off.

Aerospace 303 is very good or even tyre trim gel. But as mentioned above, taking a heat gun or the like to it really does do the trick.

Youtube has lots of videos on how to restore bumper with a heat gun. If you don't fancy it try sourcing a product called PERL - lots of info on www.detailingworld.co.uk - its very very very good stuff in my opinion!

+1 for AutoGlym Bumper Care. Tried a Turtle Wax offering and I went blacker than the trim!!
