Bodywork – the car’s bodywork is in excellent condition. The picky observer would point to a minor scuffing of the lacquer on the driver’s wing mirror and a mild brushing of the plastic on one of the front wheel arches, however there are no dents, no rust and no large scratches. The wheels while not perfect are still in good condition and have a minor amount of kerbing and one small piece of lacquer that has come away on one wheel.
Mechanicals – The facelift 3.0d benefits from the more potent 218bhp engine (up from 184bhp on pre-facelift cars), with a hefty 370 lb/ft torque (enough to pull tree stumps out of the ground!). This car does not leak oil, the air con is cold, the coolant changed regularly, it has a battery that’s less than a year old and it returns 33mpg on a mixture of urban and rural daily driving. The slightly bigger 20†wheels do not ruin the ride, and give the car a distinct look while filling the arches nicely. 22’s will ruin the ride and in my opinion look daft! If you want to return to the standard 19†Sport rims, I sold mine on ebay with tyres for only £300 as a guide.
The last service was the big Inspection 2 so the next one due is just an Oil Service, and there are 2 green lights remaining on the service level indicator.
This is a very well specced car with £12k worth of factory extras that took the list price to over £48k (see original invoice). Black on black tends to be the most popular colour combo and cars with sat-nav are worth more than those without. I have got all the little jobs that needed doing done in my tenure, and it sailed through its last MOT in December without any advisories. These cars should be bought on spec and condition and not mileage. A well looked after 115k car will be a much better buy than a 70k car needing major components replacing. As long as servicing is kept up with, these engines will just keep on going.
This car comes with 2 sets of keys, V5, all old MOT’s, many bills, and service receipts and all driver manuals including the key/pin for the Bluetooth system.
I would strongly recommend any interested parties to come and look at it rather than punting lowball offers my way (in the assumption that money will need spending on it right away). It has quite simply been the best car we have ever had and will be missed but I need the cash to lease a newer vehicle for work.
