Approved used card warranty

Post by Gazman » Fri Jan 04, 2013 7:23 pm

Evening all. Just looking for some thoughts and experience with BMW approved used car warranty. Bought my 3.0d le mans sport last June with 56000 miles from a main dealer so have a AUC warranty. Has been in for some work after a knocking developed on the steering, the dealer replaced the control arm bushes and the ball joint. when I picked the car up they said this shouldn't have been covered by the warranty as its wear and tear but they got it through with BMW as it has been an ongoing issue with my car (they replaced the steering column a month earlier as they thought it was the issue)

So now have a judder under braking from about 50mph but fine at lower speeds so suspect bushes are an issue rather than discs (also discs were changed when I bought the car so has done about 7000 miles since then). Loathed to take it back to the same dealer as think they incompetent but does anyone have any idea if this should be covered by the warranty? Am tempted to take it to a local indie to give it the once over

Any help and advice appreciated.

If it wasn't doing it before they worked on it, then they need to fix it as the job wasn't done right.  It's possible a wheel weight got knocked off, but it could equally be something incorrectly fitted and tightened.  Or grease on the discs etc.

IMHO, they messed up, they sort it.
