BMW are so expensive..

Post by Jamee » Thu Apr 04, 2013 2:31 pm

Just ringing around for prices for stuff so i can service the 2002 3.0D X and BMW are stupidly expensive when compared to eurocarparts, ebay etc.

502110261 Air filter - eurocarparts = £15.12
                                - BMW            = £47.20

507110171 Pollen  - eurocarparts = £14.32
                              - BMW              = £41.18

503110380 Fuel    - eurocarparts  = £23.20
                              - BMW              = £43.70

11127799225 Oil Breather - eurocarparts = £41.76
                                          - BMW            = £59.78

And ebay are slighty cheaper again. A couple of ££ different maybe I could understand, but mostly over double the price, such a rip off, especially as they all come from the same factory usually.

Rant over sorry.

i know there are 2 types of pollen filter, basic one and dearer carbon one. but still half price at ecp or gsf.
i get my service stuff including oil from ebay, never had an issue so far.
we should start a thread with bmw part prices against cheaper third party items!

I think its terrible the prices they charge, its like my 2 year warrenty I have with my X, if I don't go to a citroen garge all they will pay is £60 an hour labour rate, thats most garages out of the question as BMW charge well over £100 I think.

LMAO @ the thought of the spanner monkey whose never touched more than a 1.1 Saxo letting loose on an X5.

TBH, the BMW fixings will probably break their tools!  :))

I know their parts off shelf aren't cheap but if its due a service I would get a price from them 1st.........My indy can't match BMW dealer on older cars due to servicing deals on older BMW's.

I am sure you will make sure you get the proper breather as it was revised.
