Weird rear wiper problem!
Weird rear wiper problem!
I have had 2 different types of wiper blade on the rear now, a Bosch & a cheapie from a motor factors. Both blades don't even clear the rear window! Its like the rear blade isn't even touching 85% of the screen! Never had this before with any car, any ideas? (Yes it is fitted properly)

Re: Weird rear wiper problem!
Is the arm bent at all, when it is wiping it could that the bent arm is slightly lifting, either that or your glass is warped. lol

Re: Weird rear wiper problem!
The arm looks fine! Maybe I should buy a new one then just to make sure! :-\

You'll find although to look at the arm appears fine, over time they slightly deform with the pressure from the blades themselves.
New arm will sort it.
I've fitted the E70 rear arm, cap and aero blade. A touch smaller but looks better and works.

I had this happen on mine. I bought new wipers thinking it was that but after that did nothing I found out if you remove a black cap on the arm where the wiper is held on the spline there is a nut under which you can tighten to pull the wiper closer to the screen.
Hope this helps you.

Ok I will try tightening it up and if that doesn't work I will replace the arm & may have to look into the e70 arm then!

Also check that the there is some elasticity in the spring that 'pulls' the wiper down onto the window.
Mine was like yours, but I noticed that when I lifted it slightly it didn't snap back down on the glass when releases. I took the arm off, lubricated the spring & hinge and its been fine since. Didn't even change the blade.

Re: Weird rear wiper problem!
As few of us have had success with a bit of easing oil on the pivot point near the mounting boss. When you look at it you'll soon see that corrosion here will cause friction that acts against the spring that pulls the blade onto the rear screen. The oil reduces the friction. Definitely worth a try before splashing out on a new arm.
Hope it works well for you as well.

Oil the pins etc as mentioned above. I fitted really cheap flat aero blades and it cleans like a dream.
