I almost bought a Pinz Gauer 6 wheel ambulance that was a very capable off road...not quite a unimog but the next best thing. 2 diesel powered heaters on board, with a soft top cab and fold down front windscreen. The whole compartment on the back could be lifted off and the flatbed could be used for carrying other loads. Very versatile and parts very easy available as they're still used by the british army. Anyone looking for a serious offroader might consider a Pinz as they come in many different configerations, 4 wheel, 6 wheel, troop carrier, ambulance & explorer!

i don't think the X was ever intended to come out on its own. the tow rope was already fitted and that massive truck was already placed in front ready to pull it out.
