Re: My xdrive30d Msport

I bid farewell to the E70 this morning having dropped it off to its temporary new home until it finds a new owner.

I didn't want to hold onto it anymore as I have decided not to hold on for the new X5 expected next year (M Sport probably Q3 2014). It was a perfectly good carĀ  :ok:

Re: Anyone use a trickle charger?

I had bought a CTEK XS3600 but I found the lead too short for comfort, because when connected to the X5 the charger used to dangle in air. I now use an official BMW charger, virtually identical to the CTEK model and manufactured by them as well. I have sometimes left it connected for months. Word of ...

Congratulations PVR. Can't wait to see the photos. From your previous thread I recall the car is very well specified.

Re: My xdrive30d Msport

535d boy ... I remembered you having the exhaust tips changed, in fact I recall you've had them done a long while back. It encouraged me to investigate further. The lights were circa £500! Now for some updates... http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n33/flyfs6/X5/IMG_4367.jpg http://i108.photobucket.c ...

Re: My xdrive30d Msport

The car is with a dealership tonight, they have fitted oval exhausts ala 4.8 optik and fitted/coded LCI rear lights. I've been informed the rear of the car now looks much better. Photos to follow soon. Admittedly I'm excited but nervous too about the new look.

Re: Bridgestone v Dunlop Runflats

Davy I've switched to non rft's. But having tried both Bridgestone's and Dunlop's (fitted to my car from factory), I rate the Dunlop's better. I felt they were more compliant and were less noisy also. Also think there isn't a lot difference between the OEM Dunlop's and non rft's.

Re: No need to adjust recent e70's lights for driving on rig

I too believe they are correct because I recalling hearing something similar from one of my contacts. Also I recall being unsuccessful in finding a how to reference in the owner manuals.

Re: New X5 order - opinion on some options

Hi Steve. I'm pleased you're getting there: Comfort seats - nice option to have but not necessary unless you're very very large built. Adaptive headlights - nice option, I have these and if you can justify them go for them. Speed limit display - it just reads the speed limits signs and displays them ...

Re: Mudflaps

Davy - car looks great, thanks for the photos. Avtar, they definitely fit the SE (I have seen several cars), I'm sure they can be painted (might need to smoothed as I think its grainy plastic. Have your local bodyshop paint and install them. I saw another X5 with M sport with mudflaps are it looked ...

Re: Is paint protection film worth getting ??

Davy will PM you buddy.I will raise the issue on my car with Park Lane who will have the car next week. Your posts have inspired confidence in me to raise the same, despite being told by two dealers it be resprayed at my cost!

In short yes protection is worth it!

Re: New X5 wanted

Mark, BMW do approved McGuard locking nuts with revolving seats. Keep the original locking nuts on with the 21's and install McGuard's too, this is the set up I'm running with my 21's.

Do you not like the BMW performance 21's?

Re: New X5 wanted

Keep them as back up. I would be tempted to get winter tyres mounted to them as they'll make an ideal set of winter wheels (do this privately after you have purchased your car). I have friends in Cardiff, who tell me the weather the South Wales was generally harsh last year.

Even better than the original specification (full house!). Congratulations :D

This is going to be one mean X5. Perhaps we could coordinate to meet if you pop down to the dealers to collect it
