E70s, with halogen lighting

I'm down in Cornwall - kind of you to offer though thanks.
Yes I'd probably go for spacers in that case.
I want the M Sport for all the spec stuff, but I don't want the M Sport for the sporty ride and look. Tricky!

Update!

There has been much happening following conversations with BMW and my nearest dealership. £205 inclusive to supply and fit whatever this damned bulb is. I've asked for confirmation of the bulb type and whether wheel removal etc is necessary, if it is as I am advised, then the handbook is clearly incorrect, and i will seek some input from BMW.

Watch this space.

BMW have agreed to pay the dealer to replace this bulb while the car is having the front airbags replaced.

When i asked the dealer if this was an admission that the supplied handbook was woefully inaccurate, i received a rather bland non commital answer. Regardless, the outcome for me is the same, for which i am grateful. It was neither a job i fancied doing and even less, one i was happy to pay for.

For the second time in many years of BMW ownership, i am pleased at the outcome of complaining to the makers. Its nice to be heard and responded to positively.

The handbook for my i4 still showed completely the wrong gear shifter (think X6 type lever) for months after BMW stopped using them and went to a simple switch. They do have a bad rep for crap manuals.

I don’t remember coming across a lever in the Xenon lights, but the manual says it’s there. The manual is a PDF that covers all models (including other parts of the world). The E70 is top left. I’m not sure the X6 ever came with halogens. I believe, but am happy to relearn, that the idea behind the flat beam fitted to Xenon type lights avoided any need to change. I would have thought that just adjusting the beam heights might solve the issue….if there is one?

Could i trouble you, when convenient, to tell me what page that scan is from? I can't find a Driving Precautions heading in the index of the manual i have. Though 2009 30d and an LCI 40d could be different i cant see any levers in the picture i took of the right side low beam unless its the sort of highlighted item with 'two eyes', i cant imagine how that would slide?

Page 150 of the BMW On Line manual that downloads into the BMW Guide App. Publication date is August 2010. That’s from before when my X6 was built so must have been the correct version at the time. The on line manual covers all versions and all markets for E70 & E71 as well as the X5M and X6M

You might find it in the printed version under ‘Driving Hints’ as that’s the section it appears in.

Curious indeed. The handbook with the car is bereft of pages 150, 151, those are actually the double page introduction to the Navigation section. Things obviously got changed/updated.

I have finally gained access to the online manual, which I will bookmark.

I think my photo does seem to show the adjustment thats visible in your screenshot. I'll have to try some experimental sliding.
