side steps--- removing plates only

Hi Kev

I removed the rubber plugs and used fine wire wool to bring them up a treat ready for sealing. Not sure how they are stuck down if bonded at all. What kind of refurbishment did you have in mind?

Sealer! Lol, they are bolted to the body of the car and are triangular, if yo look underneath there is a plastic panel the lenght of the step, remove the plastic clips from this and fold down towards the floor, this will release it from the step and you will see what I mean, next remove the clips one at each end what hold the arch to the step, then open both doors and look above the step there is a black plastic strip which pops off, you can now see all the bolds(about 10) remove them and you can tease them out without removing the arches! If your unsure and can wait till weekend I will post you some pics when I re-asemble mine!

yeh what im saying is its not just a metal plate, its a triangle section of alloy with the top side(the plate) visible and the rest boxed in by plastic!!
